Mt. Olive introduces our NEW No
Sugar Added pickle products
Now you can enjoy all
the great taste of Mt. Olive brand Bread & Butter pickles,
but without the carbohydrates.
Mt. Olive Pickle
Company, Inc. announces new No Sugar Added pickle products, using the no calorie sweetener SPLENDA
®.
Mt. Olive’s new No Sugar
Added Sweet Relish, No Sugar Added Sweet Gherkins, No
Sugar Added Bread & Butter Chips and No Sugar Added Bread
& Butter Sandwich Stuffers can be found on grocery shelves
on the East Coast and Texas. Mt. Olive’s introduction of these
two products makes it the first company to offer No Sugar Added
pickle products in the U.S.
“We are excited about
these products, and we believe people with special dietary
needs, including diabetes, will be excited about them too,”
said Bobby Frye, executive vice president for sales and
marketing.
Splenda
® brand sweetener, also known as sucralose, is not a
carbohydrate, and it has been shown in studies to have no effect
on blood glucose control or insulin levels. In addition, SPLENDA
® is free from the unpleasant aftertaste often associated with
other artificial sweeteners. SPLENDA ® is a no calorie
sweetener made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar.
“Our new No Sugar
Added products are ideal for the entire family,” Frye said.
“They have the same characteristic flavor, quality, and crunch
of our other Mt. Olive products. We believe consumers,
particularly those with limited diets, will appreciate the
crisp, flavorful zing these products will add to meals and
snacks.”
Pickles generally are
healthful for what they don’t have: few, if any, calories, no
cholesterol, no fat and no caffeine. Even better, they add bulk
to the diet and are filling. Mt. Olive’s new No Sugar Added
products tell a compelling story of their own: zero calories,
zero carbohydrates, and zero sugars.
Mt.
Olive is the best selling brand of pickles in the Southeast, and
the second best-selling brand of non-refrigerated pickles
nationally with sales in over 30 states. In business since 1926,
the company produces over 70 million jars of pickles, peppers
and relishes annually at its manufacturing plant, which is
located at the Corner of Cucumber & Vine in Mount Olive, NC.
