Those attending the 2007 Pickle Drop donated
1,180 pounds of canned food and other items to benefit the Food Bank of
Central & Eastern North Carolina. Donors received a chance to win door
prizes from the Mt. Olive Pickle Company gift shop. The grand prize was
a pickle similar to the one that is dropped.

The Harmony Boys, Pickle Drop favorites, get
the festivities started with live music. Their performance ends with
"The Pickle Polka" just a few minutes before the pickle is dropped.
Other highlights of the evening include free refreshments - hot
chocolate, cookies, hot apple cider, and, of course, Mt. Olive Kosher
Dills.

Mr. Crisp is popular with the cameras, as
many attending the Pickle Drop snap photos with him. A record 2,000
people
attended this year's event. Pickles are
awarded to the family that traveled the farthest to attend. This year,
the winners hailed from Burbank, CA. Other contenders were from Missouri
and New Mexico.
