Mount Olive Jaycees  Pickle Classic Golf Tournament August Southern Wayne Country Club, Mount Olive, NC. The two-man, best ball tournament is always one of the summer highlights at Southern Wayne Country Club in Mount Olive. A practice round is held on Friday, with a pig pickin’ (an Eastern North Carolina tradition) Friday night. The first round of play is held on Saturday, and that evening’s festivities include a cocktail party and dance. The final round is Sunday, which includes lunch and the awards presentation. The field is limited to 120 teams.  The Mt. Olive Pickle Co. is the major sponsor of the tournament each year, with other local businesses and industries also contributing as sponsors. Proceeds from the tournament benefit local and statewide Jaycee projects. Top
