Statement for consumers regarding jalapeno peppers

Mt. Olive Pickle Company is committed to ensuring that our products meet all food safety requirements. This week, federal authorities confirmed a link between fresh jalapeno peppers and a nationwide salmonella outbreak.

 

We realize some consumers have questions about the safety of food products, including Mt. Olive Pickle's jalapeno pepper items. We pack two jalapeno pepper items, Jalapeno Pepper Slices and Diced Jalapenos. Both are acidified foods. Scientific research has proven that salmonella cannot grow or survive in this type of acidified product.  Consequently, Mt. Olive's jalapeno items are safe for consumers to eat.
