Pickle Ham Supper Casserole
2 pounds potatoes, cooked, peeled and cut in thick slices (about 4
cups)
2 cups diced cooked ham
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons flour
1-3/4 cups milk
1 cup grated or diced American cheese (1/4 pound)
1/2 cup chopped Mt. Olive Sweet Gherkins
Dash each: pepper and ground thyme
Alternate layers of potatoes and ham in greased 2-quart casserole. Melt
butter in saucepan; blend in flour. Gradually add milk; cook, stirring
constantly, until sauce starts to boil. Add cheese, pickles and
seasonings; stir and heat until cheese melts. Pour sauce over ham
mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
