Operations Mechanic Apprentice

Start your career as a highly trained operations mechanic while earning a paycheck at the same time! At the end of your training, you’ll have a college degree, be a qualified mechanic with an industry leader, here in Wayne county, and have no college debt!

As an apprentice, you are employed full-time by Mt. Olive Pickle Company where you will receive on-the-job training and gain real world experience. You will also attend classes on campus at Wayne Community College one day a week and online to earn your college degree during this three-to-four year program.  During the on-the-job training, apprentices work alongside experienced machine operators and operator mechanics.  Apprentices will receive training on multiple pieces of equipment and across various processes within the organization.

This is a smart way to secure your future, and have a long, rewarding career.

Previous mechanical experience is not required; however, mechanical aptitude is necessary.  Successful candidates should also possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills; be a team player; and have a drive to succeed.  Due to the nature of our business and work environment, candidates must be willing to work in hot environments.  Schedules will vary based on the needs of the department but are generally 9/10 hour shifts, 5 – 6 days a week, including some weekend work.
